Controlling Psoriasis with Ayurveda


Psoriasis is a severe condition affecting the skin characterised with reddening and inflammation of the skin. The common symptoms of the disease include the appearance of red scaly patches on the skin accompanied with itching. It can affect any area including the scalp, palms of the hand, soles of the feet, skin on the elbows and the knees. The acute condition is difficult to treat, many physicians identify Psoriasis in the early stages with its evident symptoms and treat it. The chronic recurring condition varies in severity from minor patches to complete body coverage. There is also a condition that leads to the inflammation of the joints known as Psoriatic Arthritis. Ayurveda provides successful treatments for curing Psoriasis after several years of research in the field, the symptoms and various stages of the treatments are identified. Ayurveda for psoriasis provides various treatments such as internal Snehapanam or intake of medicated ghee, external therapies such as Abhyanga or therapeutic oil massage, Thrakkadhara or pouring medicated buttermilk on the forehead in a rhythmic way, Vamanam or emesis, Sneha Vasthy or oil enema, Kashaya Vasthi or decoction enema. Psoria Oil is a special formulation that is used for external application, it is ideal for all stages of Psoriasis. The complete treatment requires 21 days and the duration of the treatment depends on the chronic condition of the disease.
